HW #1 (due Monday, September 6): page 5, #5, page 8, #1, 2
HW #2 (due Monday, September 13):

  1. Take five capital letters (using a simple font) and describe all of their symmetries.
  2. Describe what happens to a planar figure when you perform a reflection across the x-axis and then rotate counter-clockwise by 90 degrees around the origin; what is the simplest way to describe the result?
  3. Find all the symmetries for a rectangle that is not a square, and write a multiplication table for them.
HW #3 (due Monday, September 20): Larson, page 672, #7-12
HW #4 (due Monday, September 27): Larson, page 691, #25, 26, 37--40
HW #5 (due Monday, October 4):
  1. Describe the result of rotating the plane around the point (2, 3) by 90 degrees and then reflecting the plane across the line y = 4. State the result as a formula: what does (x, y) get sent to?
  2. Find A/P^2 for the rectangle with vertices (1, 3), (1, 5), (-2, 3), and (-2, 5).
HW #6 (due Monday, October 11): HW #7 (due Thursday, October 21): Larson, page 113, #39, 42, page 124, #1, 2, 7, 8, page 54, #1, 2
